Lighting Basics is a course developed locally by the Ottawa Section of the IES many years ago to address the needs of newcomers to our industry or those who work in other fields where some lighting knowledge can be beneficial. It is intended to provide some basic, not-too-technical knowledge about lighting and how it is used in illuminating our indoor and outdoor spaces.
In this course, we will look closely at the terms used by those in the lighting industry and do so without diving too deeply into the science or mathematics behind them.
