Our local IES Section operates under a framework defined by the Illuminating Enginnering Society, and is managed by a Board of Managers consisting of three Officers: our Section President; Section Vice-President;and Secretary-Treasurer, and four Managers. Managers may be given a specific committee assignement in addition to their general duties as a board member. In addition, our Section Adminstrator sits on the board as an ex-occio, non-voting, advisory member.
Our program year runs from September through August, although we generally do not plan events in the summer. Our closing event is usually our Annual Golf Tournament that takes place in late May or Early June.
We recently held our elections and nearly half our members cast their votes to affirm this years nominated candidates. Your 2026-2027 IES Ottawa Board Officers and Managers are:

Members and non-members are welcome to participate on one of our Section Committees that help plan, organize and deliver many of the courses, meetings, and special events, or help manage and improve how we serve and interact with Ottawa’s lighting community.
